Choose a period between 1 and 3600 seconds.
Many authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator…) ignore the algorithm, digits and period, and show wrong codes: keep SHA-1, 6 digits and 30 seconds unless you know the app reads them.
Code
Codes follow this device's clock: if a server refuses them, check the time is set automatically.
