What differs most
Each person's profile is the time each key of the phrase is held and the time from one key to the next, averaged over their samples, with how much it varies. A distance counts how far a sample is from it, each gap measured in that person's own variation, so 1 is a usual gap (the scaled Manhattan distance, which did best among simple detectors in Killourhy and Maxion's 2009 comparison). A person's limit comes from their own samples, each compared to the others. Some banks and sites check the rhythm of a password or a form this way, without anything else. With a few samples it's a demonstration, not a lock: another keyboard, cold hands or a phrase learned by heart change a rhythm. Nothing is sent or kept: reloading the page forgets everyone.
